Taking that first step into marketing yourself can be tough. It’s even more awkward if you do not know where to start and how to do it.

Many of us take a much more bon vivant approach by flooding friends’ social media with phrases like “Click Here”, “Check It Out” and, at some point, taking the courageous step of posting comments or sending messages to people who have “made it” with a notably embarrassing “Follow Me Back” or “Notice Me, Please”!

While self-promotion is a valid way of getting your name out there and getting your voice heard, maneuvering through this is like walking a tightrope. A misstep could end you up in a spam folder for good.
